AI Tools and Automated Ads Phasing Out, Testing New Threads Ad Format
Title: Meta Unveils Cutting-Edge AI Tools and Upgrades at Advertising Week 2025
Meta, the tech giant behind Facebook and Instagram, is once again making waves in the digital marketing world with its latest announcements ahead of Advertising Week 2025. The company has introduced a host of new upgrades and features, cementing its position as a leader in leveraging artificial intelligence to revolutionize advertising and user experiences.
One of the standout features unveiled by Meta is the introduction of "Ad try-ons," allowing users to virtually try on items featured in ads by uploading photos of themselves. This interactive feature aims to enhance user engagement and provide a more personalized shopping experience.
In addition, Meta has rolled out AI Sticker CTAs for Facebook Stories, enabling advertisers to create compelling calls-to-action within their content. This feature, previously limited, is now available to a wider range of advertisers, promising to drive higher engagement and conversions.
Furthermore, Meta has introduced advanced video and image enhancement tools powered by AI technology. These tools include AI-generated music, improved contrast and color ratios for videos, and persona-based image generation. These enhancements aim to make advertising content more visually appealing and impactful, ultimately leading to better campaign performance.
Meta has also announced the launch of the Facebook creator discovery API and opened up the Instagram Creator Marketplace API to all agencies and advertisers where the product is available. These initiatives are geared towards enabling quicker iteration, broader localization, and providing additional assets for lift tests, empowering marketers to create more effective and targeted campaigns.
A standout feature introduced by Meta is the Business AI agent, a powerful tool that operates across various Meta platforms including websites, Messenger, WhatsApp, and ads. Business AI leverages machine learning to personalize interactions with customers based on their behavior, Meta campaigns, and website interactions. This personalized approach has shown promising results, with companies like Julep and Solgaard reporting significant improvements in return on ad spend and conversions, respectively.
However, amidst these exciting updates, Meta has also announced the phasing out of Automated Ads in 2026, redirecting advertisers towards Advantage+. While existing Automated Ads will continue to run, advertisers will no longer be able to create new ones. It is advised to save data from Automated Ads before deleting them, as their results will be lost permanently.
In a bid to provide advertisers with more options and flexibility, Meta is testing new ad formats such as 4:5 formats, carousels, Advantage+ catalog, and app ads through Threads. These new formats offer incremental inventory for advertisers, potentially opening up new avenues for reaching and engaging with target audiences.
As Meta continues to push the boundaries of digital advertising with its innovative AI tools and upgrades, marketers are presented with new opportunities to enhance their campaigns and drive better results. Stay tuned for more updates on these developments as Meta reshapes the future of advertising.
